Does the American Medical Association (AMA) view Hypnosis as effective?
Yes! The AMA has officially recognized hypnosis as a beneficial treatment for over 40 years. In a review of literature published in Psychotherapy magazine (Volume 7, Number 1, Dr. Alfred A Barrios, PhD) various techniques were profiled. The greatest success in providing lasting change occurred with Hypnosis (93% recovery after 6 sessions), followed by Behavior Therapy (72% recovery after 22 sessions), and then Psychotherapy (38% recovery after 600 sessions). Hypnotherapy does not need years of self-exploration for results.

What does Hypnosis feel like?
In general, hypnosis is a pleasant feeling of relaxation. Many people expect to feel something special or different when in hypnosis, even though it is a normal state. Hypnosis is a state in which the mind is highly absorbed or concentrated. We have all been in this state many times before. Sometimes it seems so normal to a person that he/she denies being in hypnosis. One can hear sounds going on around and sometimes one's mind wanders. Each person's experience is different and will vary from time to time. Most people feel very relaxed and comfortable and so, have little desire to move or open their eyes, although this is totally possible.

I don't want to lose control?
One cannot be hypnotized against one's will or without consent. Everyone achieves their own hypnotic state by cooperating with the suggestions to relax and concentrate. In reality, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. You go into it willingly and with full awareness. The hypnotherapist is like an instructor or coach, guiding the client. In hypnosis, people will NOT accept any idea or suggestion that is against their religion, values, or ethical principles.

Do I will get stuck in Hypnosis?
You CANNOT stay suspended in a hypnotic state. The worse thing that can happen to you is that you could fall asleep, not go into hypnosis and eventually awaken refreshed.

Do I will reveal my deepest secrets?
Hypnosis is not a truth serum. Since you are in control at all times, you will only tell the therapist what you feel is necessary to know or understand.

Does Hypnosis is Mind Control or Sleep?
Hypnosis is NOT mind control or sleep. As mentioned earlier, no one can make you do anything while in hypnosis that you would not ordinarily do while you are out of hypnosis.

Is everyone capable of entering Hypnosis?
Yes, everyone is capable of entering hypnosis
